Sandvik Coromant has been named a member of the Global Partner Programme of the International Special Tooling & Machining Association (ISTMA). The company is the first cutting tool supplier to participate in the initiative.
Established to stimulate development and competitiveness within the die and mould industry, the new programme enables ISTMA to create strong partnerships with those global suppliers who are best able to aid in the industry’s development by providing knowledge, expertise, and cooperation.
“As the first cutting tool supplier to join the Global Partner Programme, Sandvik Coromant will quickly become a valuable partner to ISTMA,” says Eduardo Beira, general manager of ISTMA. “I am confident that the company’s contribution to the development of the die and mould industry, as well as our programme, will be substantial.”
Per Forssell, manager of application management for die and mould making at Sandvik Coromant, explains that his company’s new partnership with ISTMA not only provides an excellent opportunity for it to share unique metal-cutting knowledge with the global die and mould industry, but, “more importantly, will provide our company with a better understanding of the industry’s present needs and future concerns, enabling the development of optimal cutting tools and machining technology.”
