Common Sense of Plastic Injection Mold

Posted by: chinaeye 2021-10-18 Comments Off on Common Sense of Plastic Injection Mold

Plastic injection mold is mainly composed of a pouring system, a temperature control system, forming parts and structural parts. The injection mold is composed of a moving pattern and a fixed pattern.

The moving pattern is installed on the movable template of the injection molding machine, and the fixed pattern is installed on the fixed template of the injection molding machine.

During injection molding, the movable mold and the fixed mold are closed to form a pouring system and cavity. When the mold is opened, the movable mold and the fixed mold are separated to take out the plastic product.

1. Pouring system

The pouring system is also called the runner system. It is a set of feed channels that lead the plastic melt from the nozzle of the injection machine to the cavity. It is usually composed of a main runner, runner, gate and cold material cavity. It is directly related to the molding quality and production efficiency of plastic products.

2. Temperature control system

In order to meet the mold temperature requirements of the injection process, a temperature adjustment system is required to adjust the mold temperature. For injection molds for thermoplastics, a cooling system is mainly designed to cool the mold.

The common method of mold cooling is to open a cooling water channel in the mold, and use the circulating cooling water to take away the heat of the mold; the heating of the mold can use the cooling water channel hot water or steam, and also install heating element around the mold.

3. Molded parts

The molded part consists of a core and a cavity mold. The core forms the inner surface of the product, and the concave mold forms the outer surface shape of the product. After closing the mold, the core and the cavity constitute the cavity of the mold. According to process and manufacturing requirements, sometimes the core and die are combined by several pieces, and sometimes they are made as a whole, and inserts are only used for parts that are easily damaged and difficult to process.

4. Structural parts

It refers to the various parts that constitute the mold structure, including: various parts for guiding, demolding, core pulling and parting. Such as A and B plats, support plates, ejector guide pins, stripper plate and return pins.
