At the recent K 2007 show in Dusseldorf, Linde Gas Div. of Linde AG, Munich-Pallach, Germany (U.S. office in Murray Hill, N.J.) introduced a method of cooling troublesome hot spots in injection molds where water cooling is ineffective because of restricted space for cooling channels. Using a newly developed control unit, Linde distributes liquid CO2 at high pressure (870 psi) through thin, flexible capillary tubes to hot spots in the mold.
