The new Toolshop on-line cutting-tool selection and ordering system created by the precision tool manufacturer Walter AG will be available live at the AMB stand of the company’s sales organization, Walter Deutschland GmbH. Interested attendees of the metalworking technologies exhibition will be able to access the system via the Internet, select tools from the Walter, Titex, and Prototyp brands using the on-line catalogue, and actually test the ordering process.
The Walter Toolshop comprises a very wide range of precision tools for metal machining—more than 50,000 tools and components for turning, drilling, thread-cutting, and milling.
With this on-line service, tools and components can be ordered conveniently via PC around the clock. Intuitive prompts enable even novice users to access the ordering system quickly. Information regarding availability, net price, and delivery status provides an overview of the on-line order. Same-day shipment is guaranteed for on-line orders received before 5 p.m. at Walter Deutschland GmbH in Frankfurt, given stock availability.
Upload files are available for customers wishing to interface their in-house enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to the Walter order entry system. Ordering data and in-house item numbers can then be transferred conveniently and without mistakes from the ERP to Toolshop. Customers regularly ordering the same or similar tools can create order templates in which changes can be made as necessary for each order.
The TECweb and CSSweb software solutions provide users with tool suggestions based on workpiece material specifications. The Electronic Consultant in TECweb and cutting data service in CSSweb help quickly find the appropriate tool for machining a high-strength steel or alloy, nonferrous metal, or composite material.
The database in the software comprehensively covers the materials currently machined in industrial production. The more precise the material specification, the better the tool recommendation will be.
