Dassault Systems, a leading developer of 3D and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, has won the 2008 Microsoft Partner of the Year for Global ISV Technology Innovation Partner of the Year Special Recognition Award. The company was chosen from an international field of top Microsoft partners that deliver market-leading customer solutions built on Microsoft technology.

Awards were presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 entrants worldwide. Dassault Systems was recognized for superior technology and innovation in global ISV technology innovation. Each year, the Microsoft Global ISV Innovative Technology Partner of the Year Award is given to the global ISV partner that has developed a solution based on the Microsoft technology platform that has had a powerful market impact.

The partner’s solution will have demonstrated technology innovation that pushes the boundaries of next generation software. The Special Recognition Award acknowledges the global partner that has demonstrated leadership in driving Microsoft technology creatively and ambitiously.

Florence Hu-Aubigny, vice president of 3D VIA R&D for Dassault Systems, expressed the company’s pleasure at receiving the honour. “Our strategy is to provide all communities—creators, collaborators, and consumers—with immersive, lifelike experiences in 3D,” she explained. “Our PLM 2.0 solutions, like 3DLive for powerful and easy collaboration on-line and Virtual Earth 3D VIA enabling 3D modelling for all, strategically leverage Microsoft technologies, putting the power of innovation in the hands of everyone so that they may build a better world.”

“Dassault Systems’ groundbreaking work in security, on-line collaboration, and the application of 3D modelling to geolocation distinguishes them as a true software industry innovator,” remarked Walid Abu-Hadba, the Microsoft vice president for developer and platform evangelism. “Their solutions take 3D computing to a new level and show the full power of the software-plus-services strategy,” he said.
