The second fully international sourcing venue for mould making and tooling, design, and application development in China, Asiamold 2008, is set to take place September 24–26, 2008, at the Guangzhou International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Guangzhou. The fair is organized by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co. in cooperation with DEMAT GmbH and the Hong Kong Mould & Die Council, and represents an extension of the EuroMold concept into the burgeoning Chinese mould making market.
Last year’s inaugural event was successful, one reason why many manufacturers have already confirmed their participation as exhibitors this year. Asiamold 2008 is scheduled to augment the exhibition with additional special events, forums, and new themed display areas.
China is now one of the leading world markets for mould making technology. In the first half of 2007, its total sales of moulds and dies reached $154 million, an increase of 5% over the previous year. Total exports for January–June 2007 were valued at $595 million, 26% more than during the same period in 2006. Clearly, increasing numbers of manufacturers are sourcing moulds from Asia.
Accordingly, the organizers of Asiamold are planning to provide the best regional platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and designers wishing to promote their brands, expand business networks, and meet face-to-face with thousands of buyers from all over the world. Exhibitors in the fields of mould making and tooling, pattern making and prototyping, rapid prototyping and rapid tooling, machine tools, CAD/CAM, simulation and virtual reality, engineering, tools, design, materials and coatings, quality assurance and automation, processing, and accessories will be present.
Special features at Asiamold 2008 include informative seminars; a reprise of the popular Auto-mold & Die Zone, a forum on the procurement of specialist moulds for automotive manufacturing; and a new Design and Engineering product zone in the exhibition hall, where industrial designers will display their latest development concepts and products for a variety of markets.
