Active exporters of machine tools and other manufacturing technology have been invited to join an official German pavilion of exhibiting companies that will participate in the Machine Tool and Manufacturing Indonesia Exhibition later this year. Days before applications were to close, the trade fair organizer, Overseas Exhibition Services Ltd., reported that advance reservations had claimed a pavilion floor space exceeding 550 m².
The next Machine Tool Indonesia, which is the 22nd international exhibition of the machine tool, metalworking, and allied industries in an Asian series, will be held at the Jakarta International Expo in the Kemayoran district of the capital December 3–6, 2008. The official German pavilion is sponsored by the German machinery and industrial equipment manufacturers association VDMA and coordinated by Balland Messe Service.
The pavilion was established as a cost-effective way for German export manufacturers to increase sales, support a local agent, or enter a substantial overseas market.
Machine Tool and Manufacturing Indonesia is the largest exhibition of machine tool and manufacturing technology held in Indonesia. The last previous edition of this trade fair, held in December 2007, featured 1,397 exhibiting companies and 12 official national pavilions, and attracted 27,438 targeted visitors.
This exhibition serves the largest single market within the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) region, a continent-scale market of more than 580 million people with a GDP in excess of $1,071.8 billion. Imports of machine tools, tooling, and accessories into Indonesia topped $4.45 billion in 2005 and have grown annually since.
