Preparations for K 2010 are under way. With the recent first meeting of the exhibitor council, the wheels were set in motion. The 18th edition of the world’s No. 1 trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry will be staged in Düsseldorf from October 27 through November 3, 2010.
Ulrich Reifenhäuser, managing partner of the eponymous machine building company and deputy chairman of the Association for Plastics and Rubber Machinery within the German Machine Builders’ Association (VDMA), is once again chairing the council. His deputy is Dr. Rainer Büschl, head of market communications for plastics at BASF AG, who has also been appointed chairman of the concept committee.
The organization committee’s reins are again in the hands of Thorsten Kühmann, managing director of the VDMA’s Association for Plastics and Rubber Machinery.
The exhibitor council for K 2010 also includes Ralf Brinkmann, Dow Deutschland Anlagengesellschaft mbH; Juliane Hehl, Arburg GmbH & Co. KG; Roland Janssen, Borealis Polymers N.V.; Fritz Katzensteiner, Association of the German Rubber Industry (WdK); Ulf Kelterborn, German Association for Plastics Packaging and Films (IK); Jan-Udo Kreyenborg, Kreyenborg GmbH; Felix M. Loose, ROGA KG Dr. Loose GmbH & Co, KG; and Dr. Hartmut Löwer, Bayer MaterialScience AG.
The remainder of the council is made up of Dr. Peter Neumann, Engel Austria GmbH; Dr. Peter Orth, PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V.; Michael Rathje, Central Federation of the Plastics Processing Industries (GKV); Klaus-Uwe Reiß, Mitras Materials GmbH; Günter Schwank, Georg Utz GmbH and GKV honorary president; Peter Steinbeck, Windmöller & Hölscher Maschinenfabrik; Dr. Dietmar Straub, KraussMaffei Technologies AG; Wolfgang Studener, Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik GmbH; and Peter Vogel of Euromap/Swissmem.
K 2010 will showcase as exhibitors the leading international suppliers of plastics and rubber processing machinery, raw materials, and auxiliaries, as well as semifinished products, technical parts, and reinforced plastics. Registration forms for participants in the show will be sent out at the beginning of 2009, and must be returned by May 31, 2009.
In October last year, the K Show attracted 3,130 exhibitors and 242,000 trade visitors from some 100 countries
