Through the creatively redesigned “Business + Design Area” in Hall 6.1 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, EuroMold 2008 will support the dialogue between designers and manufacturers. The upgrade of this feature reflects the growing importance of the design sector both in the economy and at EuroMold itself, according to the show organizer DEMAT GmbH.
EuroMold 2008, the World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, takes place December 3–6 at the exhibition centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
At EuroMold 2007, more than 7% of exhibitors came from the design sector. Some 9% of first-time EuroMold exhibitors in 2008 represent design. Visitors working in the design sector were the third-largest group in 2007, after mould making and tooling and machine tools, constituting 12% of all visitors.
The Business + Design Area at EuroMold 2008 provides an “enterpriseforum,” where designers and companies can present their ideas and services on their own stand to the more than 60,000 visitors expected at EuroMold 2008. Also, it will be the site of a roundtable discussion December 3 involving speakers from politics, journalism, and economics.
An additional DesignBusiness lecture series will cover the latest trends in design of communications, investment goods, and products. The area also includes the Matchmaking Lounge, a service that offers participants the opportunity to book meeting facilities for limited periods. In a relaxed atmosphere, apart from exhibition stands, potential business partners or other parties interested in discussions can get together and exchange ideas and proposals.
Finally, design students can exhibit their capabilities and make valuable contacts on the corporate stand Design Talents for a participation fee of €150.
The free EuroMold Design booklet tells all about the variety of design-themed attractions presented at EuroMold 2008.
The new-format Business + Design Area was developed by EuroMold in cooperation with Hessen Design. It will adjoin the Design, Engineering, and Materials themed areas. Downstairs, in Hall 6.0, EuroMold presents other special areas, including Virtual Reality and Simulation.
