Delegates attending this year’s Euro PM Congress & Exhibition, Euro PM2008, which takes place September 29 through October 1 at the Rosengarten Congress Centre in Mannheim, Germany, will be able to participate in focused workshops on hard materials (cermets, ceramics, and superhard materials, the quality of metal-injection-moulded (MIM) products, and advances and future challenges in compaction technology. The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has designed the three seminars for distinct market sectors.
The hard materials seminar will reveal how cermets, ceramics, and superhard materials can help improve productivity in machining new and existing workpiece materials. The MIM workshop will explore the current issue of MIM product quality and discuss what will be involved in maintaining quality in the future. Finally, the objective of the compaction technology workshop will be to determine the potential benefits, the practicality, and the limitations of current technologies and identify areas requiring further research and development.
The Wednesday morning (October 1) seminars will conclude just before delegate tours of the Mercedes Benz factory and the BASF factory scheduled for that afternoon begin.
Three tours of the Mercedes Benz factory have been arranged, with the first tour bus leaving at 1:30 p.m. The single tour of the BASF plant also has a departure time of 1:30.
Spaces in the seminar and workshops, as well as on the Mercedes Benz and BASF tours, are limited, so interested congress attendees should check the appropriate special workshop/seminar/tour box on the delegate registration form, which is available on-line at the event website.
