Planit has announced that EdgeCAM 12.5, the latest version of the CAM system for NC part programming, manufacturing, and production engineering developed and marketed by its EdgeCAM brand division, has been certified by Autodesk for its Inventor 2009 CAD software. Full associativity between the two programmes ensures that whenever design modifications or deletions are made, EdgeCAM automatically regenerates the NC code to reflect the changes.
“We are delighted to have achieved certification for Autodesk Inventor 2009,” comments EdgeCAM international sales director Simon Lee. “Being Autodesk’s preferred CAM partner allows us to offer customers a seamlessly integrated system, as well as enhance EdgeCAM’s position as the leading software for milling, turning, and mill/turn programming.”
The many new features and functions in EdgeCAM 12.5 include a greater capacity to store intelligence in the CAD model, which in turn significantly improves automation of the CAM process. This easy-to-use new release, used in conjunction with Autodesk Inventor 2009, provides sophisticated tool-path generation. Individual parts and assemblies can be loaded directly into EdgeCAM from Autodesk Inventor, and all changes are integrated and updated automatically to shorten programming time considerably.
“EdgeCAM 12.5 is highly intelligent and provides improved data management, leading to efficient manufacturing processes,” continues Lee. “Compatibility with the latest technology has, and will always be, fundamental to the development philosophy of EdgeCAM. Our certification with Autodesk Inventor 2009 confirms this.”
This certification reinforces Planit Holdings’ aim of focusing on its core activities and becoming the global market leader in the provision of CAD/CAM solutions to the manufacturing industry.
