D-M-E Europe C.V.B.A. has entered into a strategic alliance with Fulda Flachstahl Bearbeitungs GmbH & Co. KG (FFB), a newly formed company that recently acquired D-M-E’s manufacturing facility in Fulda, Germany. This move secures an exclusive long-term source of supply for the high-quality special machined plates that D-M-E and its customers have come to rely on.
For D-M-E customers, the process of ordering special plate remains unchanged.
Dave Lawrence, president and CEO of the US-based D-M-E Co., explains: “This strategic agreement supports D-M-E’s goal to be an essential resource to its customers. FFB will concentrate on the rapid delivery of special machined plates, enabling D-M-E to focus its resources on the value-added manufacturing, distribution, and servicing of world-class mould technologies. This enhances D-M-E’s ability to bring customers the best, most cost-effective solution to their mould construction needs.”
Says Matthias Rabenseifner, managing director of FFB, “We are committed to providing D-M-E with the top-notch quality and rapid, timely delivery of special machined plates that its customers have come to expect.”
Special machined plates are critical components in mould construction. Mould designers often require custom solutions, including specified steel qualities, dimensions, or tolerances, to maximize the productivity of their moulds and minimize the total cost of ownership.
While continuing to manufacture the array of D-M-E products the Fulda plant had previously generated, FFB will fully exploit the plant’s capacity by introducing new products for markets beyond mould bases and die-casting. “Our highly motivated team stands ready to expand the range of products and features through targeted investments,” notes Rabenseifner.
