Two companies to combine to deliver turnkey PET perform systems.
US-headquartered Conair Group has reached a joint agreement with Canadian company Husky Injection Molding Systems to provide complete manufacturing solutions for PET preform production.
According to the two companies, the global agreement will enable closer integration and joint development of the partners’ specific injection moulding and plastics auxiliary equipment systems.
In particular, the companies will be looking to integrate Conair’s recently developed EnergySmart PET drying technology, which is claimed to provide optimal material conditioning, process control and energy efficiency.
Chris Keller, president of Conair, said: “The combination of Husky’s HyPET and our EnergySmart PET drying technology will help customers achieve better cycle times and minimise their energy costs.”
Husky vice president of beverage packaging Jeffrey MacDonald said the deal was in line with its “holistic approach to PET preform manufacturing”.
He added: “This relationship strengthens our ability to offer customers a complete, fully integrated solution where all the elements are optimised to work together.”
