Plast Eurasia Istanbul 2007, the 17th International Istanbul Plastic Industries Fair, takes place December 5–9 at the Tuyap Fair, Convention, and Congress Centre in Beylikduzu (Istanbul), Turkey. Organized by Tuyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in cooperation with the Turkish plastics industry association PAGEV (the Turkish Plastics Manufacturers Research, Development, and Educational Foundation), the event will be co-located with Istanbul Rubber 2007, the 4th Rubber Industry Fair.
The young Turkish plastics-processing industry is one of the world’s fastest growing. The average annual growth rate in consumption during the past 10 years has been in excess of 10%. Also, Turkey exports finished goods (including OEM equipment components), plastic compounds and additives, and state-of-the-art processing plants and technologies. Currently, Turkey ranks number 6 in Europe in annual polymer consumption (3 million tonnes), just behind Spain.
The scope of Plast Eurasia 2007 encompasses plastics-processing machinery and equipment, moulds, plastic products, raw materials, plastic-packaging technology, and hydraulic-pneumatic systems.
Plast Eurasia 2006 hosted 1,050 exhibitors from 42 countries and was visited by 25,120 domestic and international professionals hailing from 64 countries.
