The prominent metrology companies Renishaw plc, Metris, Mitutoyo, and Wenzel, along with the CAD/CAM developer Delcam plc, are holding a series of free half-day UK seminars this autumn focusing on Renishaw’s innovative Renscan5™ 5-axis measurement technology, including the award-winning REVO™ measuring head. Each event will cover operation of the new system, applications for it, compatible software packages, its suitability as a retrofit option, and, fundamentally, the throughput benefits the new technology can bring to users of coordinate measuring machines.
The first event will be held at the Metris facility near Derby on September 9. This will be followed by a September 11 seminar at Wenzel’s Gloucester site and one at Mitutoyo’s Andover offices on September 17.
During November, events will be held at Renishaw’s Wotton-under-Edge headquarters on Tuesday the 4th, at Delcam’s Birmingham headquarters on Tuesday the 18th, and at Mitutoyo’s northern facility in Halifax on Thursday the 20th.
Early adopters of the REVO 5-axis measuring system have seen remarkable time savings since implementation. One US company reported that what used to take some three days to programme could be done in 3 hours, while an aerospace firm saw the inspection time for airfoils fall from 16 hours to just 5 hours.
The innovative nature of the REVO system was recognized also by a panel of 11 independent industry judges when it won in the Best Quality Control Product or System category at the prestigious MWP Awards held in Birmingham this past April 22. Those judges characterized it as an “absolutely brilliant idea, which speeds the measurement of complex component shapes.”
At each seminar, time will be available for attendees to discuss their individual measurement requirements with a team of experts from Renishaw and the host company. Attendees can choose between a morning or an afternoon session at each venue, and a free lunch will be provided.
To register for a seminar, interested parties should use the booking form on-line at www.renishaw.info/roadshow or telephone Katie Hibbitt at +44 1453 524414.
