Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Ill., a manufacturer of coil processing equipment, recently announced an expansion that will double its manufacturing facility to more than 200,000 sq. ft. The expansion will feature four 40-ft.-tall bays with crane capacities up to 80 tons. The bays provide the capacity to handle 5/8-in. by 72-in.-wide cut-to-length lines, in addition to its SCS® cleaning systems, high-speed slitting lines, and multicut blanking lines.
The company recently purchased two Mazak machining centers with pallet server systems. The machines increase the number of different parts that the company can produce to optimize the flexibility of its manufacturing process. The pallet server system allows the centers to run unattended at night and on weekends. A new Kasto automated material storage and retrieval system has approximately 260 storage positions, with a future capacity of more than 600.
