In line with its strategy for developing its presence in the United Kingdom, MAG Industrial Automation Systems (IAS) will henceforward focus the attention of its Birmingham-based operation on delivering top-rate customer service to the company’s substantial UK customer base. The recent decision to transfer manufacturing of the Cincinnati Machine product range to MAG facilities in the USA and Germany has given MAG IAS the ideal opportunity to grow and further develop its UK customer services operation.
MAG IAS will dedicate its UK resources to its core strengths of providing engineering and a comprehensive range of after-market services. It recently demonstrated its array of capabilities to local customers at the MACH exhibition in Birmingham. The company will offer its expertise to customers in the aerospace, automotive, power-generation, oil and gas, and subcontracting industries.
Its range of services include parts and service packages, service contracts, retrofits and rebuilds, productivity enhancements, consumables and tooling, and complete engineering solutions.
UK customers for all MAG brands—Boehringer, Cincinnati, Cross Hüller, Ex-Cell-O, Lamb, Fadal, +FMS+, Giddings & Lewis, Hessapp, Hüller Hille, and Witzig+Frank—will be supported from the Birmingham facility by nearly 80 MAG IAS employees.
The newly structured UK organization will be headed by John Boyd, who has more than 30 years of experience in the machine tool industry and has accumulated considerable international experience and specific knowledge of the MAG companies and products. Boyd moves to the UK from a senior European Maintenance Technologies role with the company.
MAG IAS additionally operates nine manufacturing plants and additional service centres across Europe.
