The Gauge and Tool Makers Association (GTMA), which represents leading companies in the toolmaking, metrology, precision machining, rapid product development, and tooling technology fields in the UK, is co-sponsoring a one-day workshop entitled “Arming Manufacturers to Work in the Medical Market,” which will be held December 18 at the University of Birmingham. The GTMA is putting on the workshop in conjunction with Medilink West Midlands and the University of Birmingham Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department.
The workshop focuses on engineering requirements for the production of products for medical technology. It will feature guest speakers from a number of key organizations. In addition, the event will provide an opportunity to visit the university’s Micromachining and Biomedical facilities.
Among other responsibilities and missions, the GTMA develops world-class engineering standards and organizes technology seminars and training initiatives. The association is committed to promoting excellence in the UK engineering supply chain, one of its key roles being to develop opportunities for UK engineering buyers and suppliers to work together to develop partnerships and business opportunities.
