Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software designed specifically for compounders was recently introduced by IQMS in Paso Robles, Calif., as a new module in the company’s Enterprise IQ software. The Masterbatch module has specialized ability to manage weighing and measuring of compounding recipes, including ingredient alternatives and substitutions, yield and scrap, and inventory management. It can calculate material formulas either as percentages or by weight, which allows a compounder to quote prices quickly in gaylords or other units and to anticipate the cost/lb. Inventory management tracks shelf-life of materials and when they will be consumed and keeps records of private labeling and repacking. Enterprise IQ Masterbatch comes in two versions for single- or multi-plant use. Each allows five concurrent users as standard and access by an unlimited number of employees.
