The Gauge and Tool Makers Association (GTMA), the British trade group representing leading companies whose business is in toolmaking, metrology, precision machining, rapid product development, and tooling technologies, is again preparing to fly the flag at the Plastics Design & Moulding (PDM) exhibition and conference when it returns to the Telford International Centre in Telford, Shropshire, next month. Making a showing along with the association will be a host of member companies.
“This is one show that members not only value for the number and quality of leads generated, but also really enjoy,” explains Julia Moore, GTMA CEO. “There is always a great buzz, and the venue is perfect—an ideal place for SMEs [small and medium-sized enterprises] to make and maintain industry contacts.”
Melvin Sinar, the managing director of GTMA member Petford Tools, which was a new PDM exhibitor last time, agrees. “Showing at PDM 06 was an experiment for us,” he says. “However, it proved to be a really worthwhile use of our time and resources. We met new and existing customers, networked with suppliers, and successfully completed business deals with visitors to the stand.
“Winning the prize for best stand at the show was the icing on the cake,” Sinar continues. “We are certainly looking forward to PDM 08.”
The 22 GTMA members exhibiting at PDM 08 April 15–17 are 3DLasertec, ARRK Tooling Developments, Bourne Tech Moulding, Carl Zeiss, Cytec, D-M-E, DMS, George H. Cook, Hexagon Metrology, Innov8es, Jordans, Keights, Materialise, MNB, Oerlikon Balzers, Petford, Rapitypes, Sprint, Superite, Toolcare, WH Smith, and WS2 Coatings.
