(1) The work hardening is serious. Each pass will produce a hardened layer for the next cutting, and the hardness of the stainless steel during the cutting process will become greater and greater through the accumulation of layers.
(2) Large plastic deformation, high thermal strength, large cutting resistance, and difficulty in chip curling and breaking.
(3) The friction between the chip and the tool is large, resulting in a lot of cutting heat.
(4) The chips are easy to stick to form a built-up edge, which causes the tool to stick, spread and wear, resulting in a crescent crater on the rake surface, and the cutting edge forms small peeling and gaps.
(5) The hardness of carbide particles in stainless steel is very high, and the tool is directly contacted with the tool during cutting to abrade the tool, which intensifies the tool wear.
