The shape of the mold determines the appearance of these products, and the processing quality and precision of the mold also determines the quality of these products. Because of the different materials, appearance, specifications and uses of various products, molds are divided into non-plastic molds such as casting molds, forging molds, die-casting molds, and stamping molds, as well as plastic molds.

According to the nature of the process
- Blanking die A die that separates materials along a closed or open outline. Such as blanking die, punching die, cutting die, slitting die, trimming die, cutting die, etc.
- Bending mold A mold for bending and deforming the sheet blank or other blanks along a straight line (bending line) to obtain a workpiece with a certain angle and shape.
- The drawing die is a die for making the blank of the sheet into a hollow part with an opening, or to further change the shape and size of the hollow part.
- Forming mold is a mold that directly replicates the blank or semi-finished workpiece according to the shape of the convex and concave molds, and the material itself only produces local plastic deformation. Such as bulging molds, necking molds, flaring molds, undulating forming molds, flanging molds, shaping molds, etc.
The Degree Of Process Combination
- Single-process mold In one stroke of the press, only one stamping process mold is completed.
- The compound mold has only one station, in one stroke of the press, in the same station on the mold that completes two or more stamping processes at the same time.
- Progressive die (also called continuous die) In the feeding direction of the blank, there are two or more stations. In one stroke of the press, two or two passes are completed successively at different stations. Die for more than one stamping process.
Continuous die (progressive die), the press uses strip-shaped stamping raw materials in one stamping stroke. Several different stations are used on a pair of molds to complete multiple stamping processes at the same time. Each stamping process is completed once. , The material belt moves once at a fixed distance until the product is completed.
During the stamping process of the continuous die, the material strip always moves in one direction; the material inside the die is cut and moves in two or more directions called progressive die; the material where the material is fed inside the die is called automatic continuous die; A stamping production chain uses a manipulator or other automated facilities for stamping dies with different processes, using dies or parts to move to complete the workpiece stamping process. The rated die is called a multi-station die.
